It seems no time at all since we were on the threshold of another new year, and here we are again, already hurtling through at pace into the second month.
At SkinFirst it has been all we were hoping for and more. We have welcomed new team members and we have been inundated with enquiries for our advanced IPL systems and Radio Frequency machines for skin tightening and lifting. We are training new operators using our MPL® and radio frequency systems, every week, and expanding at a rate we could only have dreamed of this time last year.
But it has not been easy, and this marks the coming together of a long period of investment and dedicated hard work. We have, like most businesses had our challenges and we have abided by the adage that ‘when the going gets tough, the tough get going’. We know that every single step along the way brings us closer to the end goal of the bigger picture we have.
How has it been for your business, or how have your thoughts of opening a business, developed so far this year? It is so easy for time to pass, and when you get embroiled in the day to day activities of business, broader strategic decisions can be put on hold, or fail to be executed. Instead of working smart, we often just end up working hard, if we don’t implement a considered strategy and avoid procrastination in relation to the decisions that will really make a difference to our success. For some people that will be to earn more money in less time, for others it will be to grow a bigger business, or to groom it for an eventual sale, or to work part-time. We are all different in our aspirations and have differing passions and objectives. But there is usually a common theme of wanting to be rewarded optimally for our time, as time is life’s most precious commodity.
If you are thinking of how to work smart to make the most of your time, then you need to look to the earning capacity of the options open to you. Traditional beauty treatments may always be part of your business if you enjoy providing massages or applying false lashes, or whatever else floats your boat; or where you have identified there is a demand. But it is unlikely you will be able to earn the higher levels of income offered by results driven aesthetic technology.
